Author Spotlight October 2022

Author Spotlight October 2022 Jeff was born in downtown Toronto.   Being the only child to two working parents, introspection came naturally to him.   As he progressed through school, he was never the popular kid, but still formed friendships that would last a lifetime. As a kid, he loved cartoons, especially the late 1970s imports from Japan.   They were leagues away from Star Wars and Star Trek and helped change the scope of his imagination. After high school, he was in the military for nearly half a decade.   Lots of long nights on observation patrol let his mind soar into the heavens.   He finished a first year in Computer Programming/System Administration at Sheridan College, and a 4-year BA at York University.     Spending nearly 20 years in security and logistics, in 2014 Jeff finally succeeded in publishing his first work “The Secrets of Solomon” which was well received.   Combining his knowledge of esoteri...

Author Spotlight 2021 Mr. James Cipollina           Book Review  The Eyedroids by James Cipollina - Was an interesting picture book and had very simple and colorful illustrations that were very well done. The blend of colors and how he expressed the emptions of this alien creatures he called Eyedroids was good. What the book was lacking was a solid storyline and it did not have any story Arc. It also lacked a hero that a reader can follow and grow with. It did do a decent  job of bringing this creatures  to life but the lack of storyline was a bit disappointing. overall as a reader I can give him 3 stars.                                           Biography     Hi, I am James Cipollina and the Author of The Eyedroids. Which was self-published in 2011 and is for sale on all onlin...

New Author Spotlights

I had the great pleasure of meeting these two upcoming authors and asking them some questions. Mrs. Nan Whybark   My real name is Nanette, not Nancy. I like the informality of Nan though; as my grandpa always called me Nan Louisa (Grandpa pronounced it Loo-eye-za).   I had a golden childhood, and sadly I hear that is rare these days.   My grandparents were a huge presence in my life. From them I learned sewing, bread making, quilting, piano skills, how to ride a bike and play marbles, and the wonderful taste of homemade root beer on a hot summer day.   I learned to love the smell of roses, crisp, ironed linen sheets, fresh bread and warm apple pie. There’s so much I could tell about my grandparents! I had lots of pets too. Hamsters, mice, rats, rabbits, dogs, cats, fish, ducks, snakes, lizards—all wonderful in their own way. But I’ve always wanted a dragon. I have a room full of dragons now, but still none of them are truly alive. Maybe someday! ....
